Open data is data that is made available by organisations, businesses and individuals for anyone to access, use and share.
The Open Data Institute exists to create economic, environmental, and social value through open data. It helps unlock supply, generates demand, creates and disseminates knowledge to address local and global issues.
The ODI has a network of world-class experts to collaborate, incubate, nurture and mentor new ideas, and promote innovation. It enables anyone to learn and engage with open data, and empowers its own teams to help others through professional coaching and mentoring.
ODI Devon is a Node of the Open Data Institute and was formed in November 2014 to explore the applications of open data beyond cities. Led by Redfront and supported by a range of local and regional public, commercial and third sector bodies, the Node aims to bring together all of Devon’s open data and expertise under one roof to better facilitate the use of our data for public benefit.
You can find out more about open data at the ODI’s page on the subject.
